Does that mean I cannot use POPLA?Yes. That ship sailed a few weeks ago.Would really appreciate any advice for what my next move should be?Read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, fourth post, all about debt collectors because that's the stage you're at now. Debt collectors are powerless and can only send you silly letters.Stop panicking about this. Smart Parking hardly ever issue court proceedings, even though they issue somewhere around three quarters of a million tickets a year, so I somehow don't think they'll be rushing to take you to court for just a couple of tickets. Obviously I can't guarantee that, but there's help here if unlikely court papers drop through your letterbox.Other than doing plenty of research, there is nothing more you can do right now. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks. I started a little already. Is it best to wait for a letter of claim before asking for a SAR?0
-
it is if you want all the paperwork up to and including that point

Thank you. That's good to know.

Send the SAR now as per the NEWBIES.
Find out who the landowner is and ask them to cancel the charge. Ask the council who pays the non domestic rates for the car park to get a rough idea who owns the land. If it goes to court then pay a few quid to the Land Registry to get a definitive answer.
You still haven't told us where the alleged event occurred; only given a rough idea from the postcode.
Have you complained to your MP yet about this unregulated scam?

It occurred in Baltimore wharf, alexia square. It doesn't look like a actual car park. Just space. No identifiable parking bays or anything. The area itself has multiple private parking signs from different PPC. This one appears part residential, with shops and stuff around it.
Haven't complained to my MP yet. It's on my to do list.0 -

I sent a SARS request on 19 May but haven't got a response from smart parking. What should I do? I've complained to my local mp who will look into it but very busy with covid currently. I just received another letter from debt recovery plus. Funny thing with the letter is that they mention that they sent a previous letter dated a week before the letter I received today. But I never received a letter from drp the previous week. What are they referring to?
