Further to my post above:
The transfer from Vanguard to ii has STILL not been completed - almost 3 months down the line. Vanguard & ii appear to be blaming each other for the hold-up.
Not very good, is it?0 -
Just 3 months? There is an old thread with some horror stories of others' experiences transferring to ii. Some were still ironing out issues at the 6 month mark.

I don't know for sure whose fault it was. In the case of the mass exodus from HL to ii, it could have been the fault of ii, HL, or the fund houses. It's likely ii could have done more, but I've seen complaints about transfers to other providers too.MancJonny said:
Blimey! Was that ii's fault, then? (Your comment implies it was.)masonic said:Just 3 months? There is an old thread with some horror stories of others' experiences transferring to ii. Some were still ironing out issues at the 6 month mark.

Completion today. Took from 17 April to 16 August - 17 weeks & 2 days.masonic said:Just 3 months? There is an old thread with some horror stories of others' experiences transferring to ii. Some were still ironing out issues at the 6 month mark.
Even allowing for difficulties around the Covid-19 crisis, that is, surely, an unacceptably long time to transfer assets from one platform to another.
The problem was, I was told, to do with the bond fund managers rather than either Vanguard (whom I was leaving) or ii.
After over 4 months of waiting - and paying 2 lots of platform fees - I'm just relieved more than anything else.0 -
Choosing to transfer at such time was arguably self inflicted. Homeworking simply didn't spring up the day after lock down and work perfectly.MancJonny said:masonic said:Just 3 months? It would seem reasonable given the extra delay to request ii waives it's platform fee for the period your account was empty and unused. Percentage platform fee providers like Vanguard tend to charge based on the investments held at the end of the charging period, so you will probably find you aren't charged for the month in which your assets left.MancJonny said:

Problem with that is that the ii account wasn't empty and unused, at least not completely, as the funds and cash migrated across from Vanguard in dribs-and-drabs.masonic said:
