Morning all, it's a bit cloudy here, I hope it brightens up.I had a bit of a rough night coughing, probably from the dust out of the hedge and then slept late, didn't wake up til nearly 10am. No matter as there is nothing to do here today, well nothing that has to be done. I've promised myself to have a quiet day and do what I please. I have a book to finish and the jigsaw is still in blotches of the picture. It's a xmas one of a snowy village, so there's lots of snow and night sky and at the rate I'm going it may be next xmas before it gets finished !!Everything was accomplished yesterday but we didn't get round to a roast dinner. It was too late to cook it by the time the hedge was cut, all the bits tidied up and tools put away. We had corned beef pasty and chips followed with the last of the strawberries and ice cream. I'll cook the chicken, with roasties and veg for tea today instead.Have a good day if you can, hugs to anyone struggling today.Take care all, stay safe and keep wellnan xx

Has anyone tried using frozen brussel sprouts with a beef stew in a slow cooker? I'd normally use fresh ones but they're out of season now. Not sure if frozen will be ok or if they'll go mushy and spoil the rest of the stew.7

Curious - I would imagine they would turn to mush very quickly, perhaps you should add them near the end of cooking. This is just a guess, I don't eat sprouts!8

Late posting today. Lovely day here again wash done, a few volunteer calls done and delivery arrived all in tact except pitta breads which is a new one but wraps sent instead so won't starve
TA I also have the garage of doom ...my dad used to donate lots to it so should I ever need to paint the Sistine chapel then no problem I haver every paint brush size available plus plenty of half empty paint tins. One day I will start to sort it but we are talking a huge task
Scarlett Ive given up sorting clothes now as there's no charity bags arriving so no point really. My new task is wearing stuff I haven't worn for years and would have thrown away. Finding some interesting new options that way
Food will be curry and nan tonight I might put in a foil container and pretend its a takeaway.
Have a good Sat all

I could also read, before I went to school, so could DD .It was quite normal back then.
Anyone else itching for a bit of retail therapy? I'm having withdrawals from Home Bargains, as I get a lot of my sauces, n curry pastes there, as well as most of my toiletries
Love the idea, of wearing stuff you haven't worn for ages NELS! I might try this
Anyway must get going, so huggles to all the poorlies n peed offs today 😘xx"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"
