I took advantage of the MSE recent Three mobile deal for £16/month unlimited everything for 24 months, which actually turns out even better as it's £8 a month for the first 6 months.  Woohoo!

I already have an existing contract with Three which was well over the initial contract period.  I want to keep my original number.  I know Three won't let you port your current number, and have tried the trick of moving it to a PAYG SIM but Three were difficult and said it couldn't be done, which seems contrary to what I'd read before.  So, the plan is to now port my old number to another provider and then port it back to Three on my new contract.  Is there any restriction on how quickly I can do that?  Or can I just port my number back to Three almost as soon as the porting my Three number to another provider?
