E-on : Meter Broke sometime in Q3/4 2019 - Still Waiting for Numbers

Sometime between August and December our Electricity meter stopped going round - I submitted a meter reading end of August and was billed. I was due to have a Smart Meter installed in October but E-on (or their contractor) cancelled 15 mins into the 1200-1600 window and offered to rebook me the next available slot......a week before Christmas!
Anyway - first week of December was bill time - I submitted new readings and went on my way. Once the bill was generated it became clear that the reading was the same as in August....I spoke to E-on and the offshore representative said they would send out an engineer to replace the meter - next appointment was 5 days time. I said to them that in 7 days time I was due to have a Smart Meter fitted so was it really worth it sending an engineer to fix a meter for 1 or 2 days use for it to be replaced, especially as it meant me rearranging work to be at home. This was agreed to. The representative said they would use the first two weeks of usage post installation and then base the bill on that. I objected as it would have covered the Xmas / New Year period and said that it would higher so would not be true.
Roll forward a few months - smart meter is in and has been sending readings (and there logged in my account) at the end of the month (although we note not for end of the April - something to keep an eye on). Now I'm in the process of switching away I've realised I've had no bill since December. Speaking to E-on yesterday it appears that the previous representative did not send the request to the relevant department to investigate so the account has been "on hold" from a billing perspective (for both fuels).
I've been informed that a request has now been sent to that department to come up with a number and generate a bill - although under the current Covid situation no-one from that team is currently working.....

Has anyone else experienced anything similar? How did you get on?
