I've transferred thousands of pounds but in chunks of £500 or less. Never been charged but Paypal have blocked my account now.

I've sent money via PayPal to friends using my credit card and neither me nor the recipient have been charged any fees or interest either by PayPal or the credit card.
People on these forums seem very quick to post their assumptions as facts.

Who was the credit card provider that you used and was it a visa/mc/amex?

Santander Mastercard and Barclaycard Visa. Admittedly only small amounts (<£100) each time, but neither party has been charged any fees by PayPal, and it's never incurred fees or interest on the credit card.

I bought some shoes from my sister using my credit card through PayPal friends and family and wasn’t charged a cash advance fee. Admittedly again it was a small amount (£65) on my Vanquis Visa.

I come here wondering the exact same thing.  Wanting to extract £7000 of ‘cash’ out of a 23 month interest free credit card (Natwest) for a cash payment on a private car purchase.

I started wondering about this method, as I regularly pay for my 5 a side sessions (£6) via PayPal-Friends and Family using my Amex as the funding method.

Can confirm I never get charged any more than the £6, and the organiser receives it in full. So how much can this scale up, and would it be applicable to a different card type?

The charges will depend on what PayPal uses as the MCC and how the lender then see the MCC (they may class as a ‘cash like transaction’ they may not). The only sure way to find out is to simply process a nominal amount £10 or less and then wait….

I highly doubt that the value of the transaction has any impact whatsoever because the MCC is the MCC irrespective of how much or little is processed. The key here is the lender and type of credit card!
If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

    Secured/Unsecured loans x 1
    Credit Cards x 8 (total limit £55,050)
Creation FS Retail Account x 1
    Creation Credit Sale 0% x 1 = £112.50pm x 20 mths
    0% Overdraft x 1 (£0 / £250)
    Mortgage Outstanding - £137,707.00 (Payment 13/360)
    Total Debt = £7,400 (0%APR) @ £100pm - Stoozing

Is the shoes are put in auctions on eBay under "Buy it now" term"??
