My wife and I are partners I have 20%she has 80% because my 20% is less than my none working income I don't qualify for any grant . The point is my wife only gets 80% of the 80% of our business profits so we are dipping out of the 20% .

Whats with the relevance of the word "veteran" here?
Is it to curry some sympathy that because you were in the armed forced you should be a special case?7 -
Hmm my husband's a vet... never ever ever even crossed our minds to use that or think we should get some sort of extra or special treatment as a result. How utterly bizarre.5

Bradders1983 no the point is a pension is taken as non trading and ignoring 20% trading all of which I pay tax on. But because one is greater than the other I get no grant .0

So what's the relevance of the veteran bit, why not just say pension?

That would be the whopping armed forces pension, yes?3

The veteran bit isn't relevant here in the slightest. Post all the facts and figures and someone will be able to advise you if they see something you can do/claimAn answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......3

I agree veteran is of absolutely no relevance.
The self employment grants are for those who have more than 50% of their income from self employment. You don't so you dont qualify much like thousands of other self employed people.
We dont qualify either. Our options are ride this out on what income we have and savings or apply for a bounceback loan for up to 25% of turnover.3 -
The rules are clear you can only apply for the Grant if 50% or more of your income comes from self-employment - how and why you've got a pension is irrelevant being a "vet" has nothing to do with anything or should you be some special case cause you choose to join the services and be able to claim a pension early? The futures bright the future is Ginger0

Whichever way you look at it is income. It's just not self employment income.0
