    Thanks all

it’s an iPhone X, and my partner has the 8plus so not too old a phone.  How would I check the Linksys Velop is set to 5Ghz and not 2.4?

    Hi guys
right, I’ve rechecked it with a speedcheck app once I got home at it’s approx 220Mbps upload and download. So I’m over the moon. With the typical drop the further from the unit I go (1930’s house with all solid walls). Rear bedroom the speed is only 13mbps download/5mbps upload and some items won’t connect as the signal is too weak (old iPad won’t, or the Sky box etc)

do I need to buy another Linksys Velop unit to use as a booster, creating a mesh system?

To help the people helping you, here is a link to your product's support page: https://www.linksys.com/fi/support-product?pid=01t340000042iGXAAY
When did you last update the firmware? I only ask as there was a firmware released last month, but you first need to check which hardware version you have - version 1.0 or 2.0? More information here: https://www.linksys.com/fi/support-article?articleNum=207568

When you go to the distant bedromm are you making sure you are connected to or trying to connect to the same SSID , Also what do you use to connect to your ISP another modem router or just a modem? If it's a router, turn off its Wifi
