Hello, I have such a problem, I sold the car to a friend in October, he promised me that he would draw up online documents, I moved to another address and did not know that there were fines at the old address, and now I received a letter from debt recovery plus, Yesterday I went to the old address, and it turned out that there were 36 letters, 30 about fines. From the evidence I have a money transfer, and sorn registered for the car two days before the sale, I am horrified what to do?
You sold the car to your soon to be Ex friend who has racked up quite a few problems for you now in your name.

You are the one responsible for notifying DVLA very easy on line or by completion part on V5 and posting.

Do not rely on others saying they will do it for you.

Would not think there are a lot of Russian? posters here so please translate or stick to English?  :)

There is no need for a survey. Are these fines from the authorities or parking fees from a private company? I suspect the latter, and in this case, please use the correct terminology. If they really are fines, then you should go to pepipoo.com. Please read the newbie sticky thread, which asks you to read it before posting. This tells you why it is safe to ignore powerless debt collectors. Was the V5C updated with DVLA when the car was sold? If so, was this done before or after PCN began to arrive? Did you receive a written confirmation from DVLA that the registered keeper changer has been updated? If you do not update the vehicle data and your driver’s license separately, this can lead to a real fine of £ 1000 for each violation by DVLA. What is the name of the PPC if it is a private PCN? In fact, this Russian text is a translation of @Fruitcake's post.

Well done. Can you tell us a bit more about how/where you won please?  Was it at court?  What did the judge say about why the charge was to be cancelled.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
