It is now the case that all Greek banks charge a withdrawal fee if you insert a foreign debit card - it doesn't matter whether you have a Starling, Curve, Virgin or any other card which doesn't charge for foreign ATM withdrawals, you'd still have to pay the fee which the local bank imposes.
I think this is true in a lot of countries, not just Greece. It's true that while Starling won't charge fees for using an ATM abroad, the foreign bank may charge a fee for you using a UK card. What I often find is you have to try a few banks before finding one that doesn't charge fees. Even so, it's still more economical to use Starling than the majority of other card providers.0 -

I'm sorry for your loss...
In all seriousness, you might want to pay off your MBNA ASAP before the interest racks up.0 -

That's interesting. I went to Hong Kong just over a year ago and I was told that I could use my UK HSBC card to withdraw money for free from a Hong Kong branch of HSBC and this applied to all HSBC outlets globally. Maybe they've changed the rules or I was told a porky.0 -

I have a credit card which treats cash withdrawals through curve as a purchase, which is still the case after the MCC passthrough changes.0 -
Found this thread guys. Topped up Revolut through Apple Pay using my nationwide select credit card and no fee or interest charged at all. It is a cash back card too. I have recently switched to Amex rewards card and haven’t tired thought I’d let you know about nationwide credit card via Apple Pay. The credit card is also good for spending abroad by POS only (not fees) though there is a charge for withdrawals.
