Topping up Revolut with a credit card - a warning to others!

To be honest Revolut will not miss anyone who persists with topping up with rewards credit cards. It's expensive for them whereas loading by bank transfer isn't.
The foreign exchange and transfer services they offer are fantastic - who matches or betters them for ease or price? Given pretty much everyone else charges, it's understandable why limits are imposed.
It would be great if they allowed people to manufacture spend on rewards credit cards ad infinitum and offer unlimited forex for free, but as a business it's not really sustainable!1 -
On that be aware that Starling do not charge fees for using ATMs abroad. It is now the case that all Greek banks charge a withdrawal fee if you insert a foreign debit card - it doesn't matter whether you have a Starling, Curve, Virgin or any other card which doesn't charge for foreign ATM withdrawals, you'd still have to pay the fee which the local bank imposes.jbrassy said:I have a Starling Bank account to get free ATM withdrawals abroad.0 -

I think this is true in a lot of countries, not just Greece. It's true that while Starling won't charge fees for using an ATM abroad, the foreign bank may charge a fee for you using a UK card. What I often find is you have to try a few banks before finding one that doesn't charge fees. Even so, it's still more economical to use Starling than the majority of other card providers.0 -

For sending money abroad via bank transfer, Transferwise is much better and cheaper than Revolut in my experience. As for spending abroad, as mentioned previously, you can't beat Barclaycard Rewards and Starling.0 -
I use paypal as my source of funds for revolut, its a great service with the virtual debit card (great for security), wish all card providers had disposable virtual cards.0

What is the best option these days to get cash from a 0% purchase credit card, let say a Barclays card 0% platinum or M&S/Sainsburys 0% Purchase card. It used to be the case that `Revolut did that but what is the solution these days?0

With the information Curve provides to your bank now they know that you've obtained cash from an ATM, even if you use the Curve card linked to your credit card. However, in an emergency you can use the go back in time feature to change the card payment so it comes from a debit card through Curve, not a credit card but even then it will show up as a reversed transaction on your credit card.hermante said:IAMIAM said:
