Hi
3 of us were due to travel for a RV holiday in Canada in June but our flights have been cancelled. Air Transat, the airline, have issued vouchers for 2 of us but not for the third. The total is £1620. The vouchers are for 2 years. Obviously I have to find out what happened to the third voucher at some time. These have been auto issued without any agreement from me. I cannot get through to Air Transat help.
However with our daughter doing medicine these are no good as we cannot use them. I want my money back
Air Transat are adament that no moneys are to be refunded. I did take out travel insurance to cover this but they have advised I contact mastercard to try and get a refund as I paid for them on a credit card.
I have tried to contact Mastercard but cannot get through.
In this scenario what is the best route to get my money back. I would prefer to do this as its better in my bank thatn theirs.
Any replies greatly appreciated
Kind regards

Sounds like the best route is though your credit card,
First way, raise a "Chargeback" against the transaction stating non-supply of service, (using proof of cancellation) also state that you have rejected any vouchers that you are entitled to do under English law.
If that fails then it's a Section 75 on the credit card.
The retailer (airline) can dispute the Chargeback, but it must supply evidence to the card company
Personally can't see what evidence it could supply
New User name as MSE gave me a number in my old one.

do a search in this forum for Air Transat
you will find a bigger thread with a number of us in the same boat. (might be better sticking to that one)
best option as said above a charge back first via your credit card, some you can do on line via their web sites others you either call up or put it in writing. (I've done 2 (after I used 2 different cards) both online forms)
good luck0
