Hi
My family and I booked to go to Greece on the 8th August 2020. Obviously this is unlikely to go ahead. We paid jet2 holidays £800 and have a balance of £700. The balance is due 30th May. If we dont pay we lose our deposit if we do pay we are worried we might have to go in a 2 week quarantine period as soon as we land in Greece. Can jet2 legally send you to a country knowing you will have to go into quarantine as soon as you land. Please help

I'm not aware of any quarantine requirements in Greece at present, but you could get caught in a quarantine requiremnt when you returned to the UK.  Your question is a very valid one, but not one to which I have an answer.  If the tour operator can fly you out, and get you to your accommodation, they have presumably fulfilled their obligations.  On that basis, if you refused to go you would have broken the contract and not them.  In that situation I can't see that any refund would be required.
I'm in a broadly similar situation in that I have paid for flights in September so if the aircraft goes, so does my money.

Obviously the situation is changing on a daily basis but I don't think Greece applies the 14 day quarantine requirement, however this will apply on your return to the UK.

Britons may be able to holiday in Greece from June 1 without facing quarantine rules, according to Athens. The Greek government is now looking to ease its lockdown restrictions and revive the country’s usually booming tourism industry. The plan to reopen tourist hotspots and see travellers from various parts of Europe including the UK return to the country could begin from June 1.

Social distancing will apply when in Greece
Quarantine when you return will apply.

Is the £800  all deposit, or does it include payments above that?

I suspect the package companies will not fly people to a country where they have to stay cooped up in hotel rooms for 2 weeks, and those holidays will be cancelled.

As for on return, I suspect the "quarantine" in the UK (lets be honest, it isnt a quarantine, they are just asking you to stay at home for 2 weeks) will be absolutely unenforceable given police staffing.

In any case, no details of the UK one have been made public yet and nor do we know how long it will last.
