My full payment is due on EasyJet Holiday 15 May. For holiday 15 July. Can I insist a cash refund for my deposit-1
-
You will have to continue to pay for your holiday as normal and wait until the company cancel.
If you dont pay the money on the 15th effectively you are cancelling it yourself and you can say bye bye to the rest of the money.0 -
Easyjet have also refused my compensation. They cancelled the flight, reason for non payment given as: "Our assessment and legal team have carefully reviewed your claim, including the circumstances around your flight and have confirmed that your compensation claim is not eligible for compensation payment under EU Regulation EC261/2004". They go on to say the reason is Covid was beyond their control, which presumably means they will stop paying on all similar claims. This was a flight from Manchester to Geneva booked pre Covid so nothing unusual. Anyone else seeing this approach ?0

Why did you fill the compo form in?0

So easyJet refunded my outward bound flight to Lanzarote scheduled for March but have now said they will not refund the return flight scheduled for a week later due to Covid 19 stating:
Decision summary: We are sorry that your flight was cancelled. Our assessment and legal team has carefully reviewed your claim and the circumstances around your flight and have confirmed that your compensation claim is not eligible for compensation payment under EU Regulation EU261/2004. Please note that this may not match with the information you were given on the day of travel, as our staff in airports, and on-board, may not have had all the information concerning your cancelled flight
How is this possible? What can I do?

Looks like you have filled the wrong form in, for starters. This isnt a EU261 issue, go and fill in the proper refund form.0
-
Anyone who has claimed compensation will not get compensation. easyJet have no obligation to pay EU261 compensation as Coronavirus is classed as exceptional circumstances. As @bradders1983 says, you're filling out the wrong form, the compo form will go to the team that handle EU261 claims so they will rightfully refuse.
The refund form is available following the "Covid-19 Help Hub link from the easyJet home page.0
