I use Parcelforce several times a week in my job. However I have decided to change to Fastway Couriers, and wanted to vent my frustrations about PF here (ain't that what this boards for?)
Thanks for listening...
- Parcelforce put up rates a few times a year. Contrary to what their T & C's tell you, I have not received a letter informing me of such increases.
- Website, although useful for arranging consignments, is woefully slow.
- Tracking is useless. If you require further information on a parcel's whereabouts, forget it. The website gives you basic information, but if you want to enquire further, you can phone 08708 501150. Once you have navigated the miriad of options, you are then helpfully told "The easiest way is to use our website". You then get told the same information as was on the website, with no option to speak to someone.
- If you are fortunate enough to actually speak to someone, invariably you end up going round in circles.
Thanks for listening...

Maybe I don't give them enough business....Everybody dies, but not everyone truly lives0

what info does the PF track and trace show/not show?
i thought it showed the main tracking points on the PF site?0 -
I thought I'd vent my fastway couriers issue here then (for a bit of balance you see....)
I bought an item and they used fastway couriers....needless to say a week later I am still waiting for the item. They will not leave the parcel with the neighbour, unless you complete the form they left when they delivered the item 4 days late....and you get to spend a whole day trying to get hold of them, to find out they don't work weekends....what courier company doesn't work weekends?? This one....(apparently....)
I won't be purchasing anything for anyone who uses these courier companies in the future!! At least the Royal Mail collection point is open even if it is horrible early hours....0 -
now you see heres the tricky bit.
people slate couriers/rm for not leaving items with neighbours/'safe' places etc
then complain when they do
the company is just protecting itself.0 -

Even when you leave a note for them??
All other couriers do, and the Royal Mail
...and the reason for them needing my phone number if not to call me would be for??? The Royal Mail don't ask for it...
and knowing that they had my number and that 2 days had been spent trying to track the parcel down, I would have thought that they would have done more to get it delivered some how....0 -
you seem like the people i deal with day in day out.
i was mearly stating a fact.
other couriers do it and RM does as you say.
however RM's own rules are no doorstepping(rm speak for leaving parcels)
unless the customer puts it in writing beforehand.this is a sackable offence
saturdays for couriers is generally a low staff level day with few office side staff in.
if you have ever swung by a couriers midweek and then a saturday the difference is clear
heres an example
http://www.lep.co.uk/news/39My-mail-was-left-in.3594021.jp
the driver that did this will most likely be sacked
with the best of intentions i havent been able to do follow up phone calls for 4 days
and a couple more from google.for everyone that moans about coming ot the office another moans about the packet being doorstepped

Thanks but none of those link to complaints about neighbours taking in parcels and signing for them....yes putting them in the bin is pretty stupid as is leaving it in plain view on the front door steps, neither of which I have asked for....anyhoos off outta here now as need to plan my day tomorrow to see if I can get the parcel from the Muppet Kingdom....0

DHL doesn't work weekends0 -
I didn't think many did, other than Saturday mornings when I would expect them to be too busy dealing with people picking up packages to answer the phone.
They might still be transporting parcels to the various depots over the weekend but I wouldn't expect them to have office staff to answer the phone over the weekend.0
