Time to cancel (Jet2) I think

It's looking increasingly likely Jet2 will be resuming flights in time for our holiday (13th july departure)
The trouble is, we've already decided we really don't want to go, we'd decided this before the threat of having to isolate on our return reared up this week.
Jet2 cancellation policy seems to suggest they will keep our entire £1955.00
Should I speak to Jet2 first, or go to our travel insurance?
Feel like we're in between a rock and a hard place right now, don't want to go but can't afford to cancel.

I highlt doubt the travel companies are going to be flying customers into an isolation country and then back into another.

Jusy be patient and they will probably cancel it themselves.  Everyone is waiting for more details of the system and you dont even tell us the destination country.

If the flight ends up going, can't see jet2 or insurance paying out because you don't want to travel?

Jet2 won't refund if the flight ends up going, obviously.
Insurance is more debatable as if guidelines still state travel is to be avoided, and there's quarantine on our return, we may have a case.
Quite honestly, it's horrible to think we may be 'forced' to go.

There is absolutely no chance they will be flying UK holiday makers to any part of Spain in July.  None whatsoever. Same applies for Italy.

Just wait for them to cancel it first

Oh, great, Spain in opening in July.
So it looks like our decision whether to go (which we don't want to do) or lose £3000.....

Don't panic or cancel anything yet.   Wait to see what develops.  FCO may still advise against all but essential travel?  Nobody knows yet.

Similar situation here, due to travel to Majorca on the 12th of July for 4 nights that tied into our DD going away with school (now been cancelled with the school and awaiting news of if that will be refunded/vouchers for next year). Have had a email from them asking if we want to discuss our booking. Think this is a ploy to get us to change our booking to another date so they keep our money locked in.

We've replied about possibly changing everything about it(different destination, hotel, date and amount of people going) and will see what they can come up with. Very undecided at the minute whether to wait out for refund or change date but not confident that there won't be another winter flare up next year.

Nobody will be forcing you to go. The choice will still be yours.
