Hi
As anyone had a refund from P & O yet, and how long did it take.
My cruise as should have been was last weekend and I have been waiting 56 days for my promised refund.
I am told there maybe further delays after the 60 day deadline which is on Wednesday
Anybody had any good news

Cheers

John

Hi John.  Same here.  Been waiting since end of March with no luck.  Looks like we may have to use chargeback/section 75 to speed up our refunds and that could take few more weeks!
    Keep hoping

    Hi Dave
Got through to P & O yesterday. I was told we would get our money next week, not holding my breath though lol.
I will keep you informed if I have any more news.
    Cheers

    Hi John
Did they give any indication as to how they were refunding, for example - could it be when a particular cruise returned to port then that would then be the catalyst for refunding the passengers on that cruise?
    Regards
    Dave
  • Facebook groups have started reporting that refunds have started to me made. There have also been reports of some people getting FCC after requesting a refund so always worth chasing your TA if you are close to the 60 days

An update of sorts but no when.. Day 70 for me on Saturday

    Dear Mr Atkins,

    Booking reference: xxxxxxxxxx

I am sorry that the unprecedented nature of Covid-19 has meant we have been unable to issue refunds to all of those guests who have requested them, as yet. We confirm that we have received your request, we are working on it and will be in touch, and we promise to get this done as soon as we possibly can.

We are very aware of how tremendously important it is that having opted for a refund, you receive your money back as swiftly as possible. We know the financial constraints many are under at the moment and we are not delaying this intentionally.

We would like to stress that the refund process is underway but the impact of Covid-19 upon our business and all of our lives has been devastating, and therefore the complexity and scale of this task has been unprecedented for us.

P&O Cruises has had to adapt its way of working very quickly as we set up new systems and all of our head office colleagues began working from home, all whilst needing to contact more guests than ever before.

The first cruises were cancelled due to Covid-19 in the middle of March and whilst we expected to process the first refunds sooner, we revised that to ‘up to 60 days’ when we realised the impact the pandemic was having on our wider business and teams.

We know that “up to 60 days” is not ideal and it is certainly not the service you would normally expect from us.

However, in the past few weeks, despite the challenges, we have been able to put new technology, systems and additional resource in place which will result in more refunds being processed more quickly, and we intend that this will improve the situation daily.

Following initial trials of our new processes, we are responding to refund requests received in date order, with this our priority focus and will respond to your request as soon as we possibly can.

We never underestimate the feeling and affection that many of our guests have for our ships and for P&O Cruises as a whole. It is a huge privilege to have so many very loyal guests who holiday with us time and time again.

Thank you so much for your understanding and forbearance as we work our way through these difficult circumstances, it really is very much appreciated.  We look forward to sailing again soon and welcoming you back on board.

Did they include the interest / compensation you asked for?
Given the base rate, I think that'd be at least half a pint (when the pubs re-open!)
