Chargeback/Sykes Holidays

I am so glad that I subscribe to Martin's newsletter.
Trying to get a refund on my Sykes cottage holiday has been an absolute nightmare. Numerous emails never answered, cannot get them on the phone as it's constantly engaged.
We were due to travel to Cornwall 15th May, so now no hope of that !!
Sykes cottages replied to ONE of my emails that my contract was with the cottage owner and not them, then they wanted me to amend to another date. Even though I have emailed them time and time again that there are no suitable dates.
After waiting nearly two hours on the phone to get through to SHC this morning,  I was then told they have to contact the owner! Then I read about charge back on MSE email.
After contacting my bank through which I made ten payments using my debit card, they right there and then refunded me all the money paid out and they take the dispute to SHCs bank !!
After all that.....Sykes, you can kiss my !!!!!! ! Halifax......you are awesome !!
So, if you've been put into the same predicament as me then contact the bank you used to pay for your holiday, and ask them very politely for a possible charge back.
Hopefully you'll have the same luck as me.
Stay safe all.

Don't count your chickens yet, its possible the chargeback could get reversed.

According to Martin your meant to speak to the firm and ask for a refund, when they dont budge then you mention you will start a chargeback as it will cost the firm involved.
Cant remember when it was on, maybe last night, get it on catchup.

And I have asked for a refund, repeatedly, by numerous emails and the one time I managed to speak to them. I have given them enough chances and enough is enough. Fed up of being fobbed off by them , so I did tell them I'd be taking it further.
My bank were only too happy to help. Also I know that if my claim fails they will take my money back.

I've got a claim in with my credit card... I will never deal with Sykes again.
