Broken Window Handle

Something has happened to my window handle, it won't lock properly. I've unscrewed it to have a look, and the spindle has came off. Unfortunately, it's disappeared up the hole and I can't get it out. I've tried small pliers and blu tac but it's not shifting
Does anyone have any ideas how I can remove it? I need to measure it before I can buy a new handle

Ok, try these photos. The first one is the window frame. The spindle is the metal bit in the centre hole. The second picture is the handle. The spindle should be attached to the centre hole0

Do you have a magnet you could try?1

I was also going to suggest magnetic screwdriver. Alternatively, you can get rolls of very strong double sided tape. Stick one side to a piece of dowel or cane and press the other onto the end of the spindle. That will probably get it out. Gorilla Heavy Duty or similar.

Failing all else, I'd drill the end of the spindle, and put a long self tapper in to pull it out. Obviously the drill needs to be the right size to allow the screw to bite.

A strong magnet towards the handle end of a screwdriver gives decent magnetism with the bonus of being able to aim the point at the bit you want to pick up (it also doesn't matter if the magnet is to big to fit in the void).

Seems to me that the friction holding the stuck spindle in there will be quite significant given that pulling the handle off didn't bring the spindle out too. Maybe a bit or Araldite mixed and put on the end of some kind of rod and put in place until it dries and then pull the spindle out? You'd need to make sure you don't put too much Araldite or it'd make matters worse!0

It terms of sticking it's much worse that many other glues even for well prepared surfaces (that isn't the case here). This *may* work if the OP finds a small pipe with the inner diameter slightly bigger than the one of the spindle.
