Hi
When I normally paid £32 Virgin Media contract for 24 months.  My contract expired about three months ago and the price rockets up to eye-watering £60.  My package consists of 100Mbps Fibre boardband, TV is player  (M) and talk weekend (Phone) so the question is am I paying too much for this package and is there any way of bringing the price down to £32?

Correct, though with OR not doing any line installs at present, you may find that VM will not be offering the usual incentives, since they know you have nowhere else to go. Your contract hasn't expired, it continues until you give 30 days notice.
Why have you waited three months though?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but, if not, perhaps someone would redirect me. I'm very ignorant about these things but have some time to think at the moment.

Our current Virgin Media bill is £72 for 100 MBps broadband, unlimited landline calls (up to an hour each ), and basic digital TV (no extras).

I've tried using the comparison tool on the site but it's unclear to me how I search for a package that just has basic TV.
I'm not expecting to change immediately. I'm just making a general enquiry as it seems expensive. It's a long time since we had a BT landline so it's hard to remember what we paid for individual parts before we had a package.

    Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by Basic TV  ??
    Freeview or something else .
Key is what actual channels you want .

From what I remember, the basic Virgin TV package is very similar to Freeview.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for the speedy response. Yes, that's right, just Freeview. 🙂

If you are no longer in a minimum term contract, you can of course call them to negotiate a reduction. Be aware that your TV subscription sounds like it is not charged for if all you get are the free-to-air channels...

I'll check but I don't think so. It's quite old but it works fine so we've not replaced it. We had our own box before then the Tivo box that came with Virgin.
