Refund being sent to a closed account - help!

    OP said the old account is closed but has not said how it got closed. As I said, I tend to think it was through the full switch, in which case there is no problem as the money gets redirected. It is then just puzzling why "the bank" is said not to "budge".

    OP  has not said when the switch was done. If it was more than 13 months ago. Pretty sure payments do not get moved over if never done before.

    CASS redirections are for a minimum of three years after switching before the 13-month limitation kicks in (whereby redirections cease after a 13 month period of no transactions being redirected).

    Yes of course the old account can't accept money. Under the CASS guarantee, any incoming deposits will be transferred to the account you switched to. Please inform yourself about CASS.
