First thing is to not post on threads that are irrelevant to your question and post your own threadHendo261291 said:Hi There,
I was banned for 6 months TT99 (Totting up points in 3 years), Not going into detail, but i feel £300 on a pay monthly and is a 1/4 of my wage. Cheapest annually is £2609 but i cant afford that amount. Is there anything out there that people know, that i can do to get this quote down. Only 7 providers will touch me. I feel fairly screwed over. PS.. The court system for people who are genuinely apologetic and have made a genuine mistake. Not all my points where for speeding.
Thank you in Advance.

Well, if you've been coping without a car for six months, then there's always that option...Hendo261291 said:I was banned for 6 months TT99 (Totting up points in 3 years), Not going into detail, but i feel £300 on a pay monthly and is a 1/4 of my wage. Over time, as the ban fades into the distance, your premium will improve. Insurers calculate your premium based on how likely they think you are to cost them money. And if you've got to 12+ points in four years, there's a reasonable indication that you're not the greatest at following motoring law or taking a hint, so it's no great surprise they aren't in a rush to have your business. No matter how unfair you think it is, all those points were imposed by a court...
If £300/mo is a quarter of your wage, you must be somewhere below minimum fulltime wage. So there's one option - increase your income.0 -
Sounds fair to me.Hendo261291 said:Hi There,

Depends on what the offences were. If there's a 6 pointer in there such as no insurance, driving with no licence, dangerous/reckless driving or using a mobile phone then you'll have your pants pulled down. The fact only 7 insurers will even entertain you suggests that you had one of those more serious offences that insurers don't want to touch in that totting up.Hendo261291 said:Hi There,

You didn't make mistakes when you did those, you deliberately chose to drive in a manner that got you those 12 or more points. I do over 1500 miles a week driving all over the UK, on Friday alone I drove 480 miles. Since I got my driving licence 33 years ago I've only ever had 6 points in total, both for speeding and 20 years apart. In both those cases I ignored the posted limit, they were my fault I got them, nobody else's, they weren't "a genuine mistake". I did 56 in a 40 driving into York at 7am on a Sunday for the first and 20 years later doing 70 in a 50 stretch on the dual carriageway A40 near Ross on Wye one Friday afternoon.0
