TUI Low Deposit - nothing further to pay if we cancel?

We booked an Italy holiday with TUI for July and paid a £200 deposit as part of their low deposit scheme. We are now considering cancelling and in a recent call with TUI they advised that we would lose the full deposit, which they said was another £600. Their T&Cs do state that in the event of customer cancelling the full deposit will need to be paid and not just the low deposit amount, which is fine, but I can find no written statement of what the full deposit amount is, either on the TUI My Account webpage or in any of the emails they have sent us confirming the booking. So how can an additional deposit amount be enforced when there is no explicit statement of how much it is in any of the emails, if we decide to cancel and do not pay anything further? Views welcome, T&C extract as follows:
"The deposit amount will be specified by us or your travel agent when your booking is made. If it is not specified then it will be the amount that we ask you to pay when you book, even if this is 100% of the holiday price. If you pay less than the deposit under a low deposit booking scheme, then this is only part of the deposit referred to in this paragraph. "

Well you have given both figures in your opening post. You paid £200, they said another £600 is due, so the answer is £800.

The holiday we have booked with them the deposit works out to £200 per person.... I thought to be honest that was the standard amount with TUI.

In theory they can try and recoup the outstanding monies via the courts but nobody has heard of this actually happening.

But I could say they told me it was another £100, my wife was not 100% sure if the 600 was the total or in addition, verbals would not be enforceable surely...

I do feel it is wrong of TUI to say it's a low deposit, it not, the deposit is the full amount

New User name as MSE gave me a number in my old one.

No it will be on something you agreed to I am sure. Is the holiday 4 of you? In which case its 4 x 200 for an £800 deposit. As for them enforcing it, see other replies.

I've got a holiday booked with TUI for next year and paid a low deposit. The balance of the deposit is due now and I logged onto my account and all the information re amounts owing and due dates was very clear.

I had booked everything online however you don't say how you booked your holiday. Either way I would log onto your account again and double check all the information and also any emails you have received from them.

Previous deposits with them have been £200 per person. Mine is £250 per person, probably because it is for 2021.

When I booked my June holiday with TUI, it was very clear that the amount they asked me to pay at the booking stage was £x as a 'low deposit' with the remainder of the deposit being due on X date and the balance was due on X date.
I really don't see what is wrong with that.
I think it's more that people don't read what they are signing up to.

Another case of someone happily accepting the T&C’s (and confirming they do so) when booking a holiday, but later finding they are not happy with said T&Cs, that they agreed to.

Indeed, especially the bit's about receiving a cash refund within a proscribed period if the Holiday is cancelled by the provider which turns out to be a fallacy.
    It works both ways !!!

Read my post properly, nothing wrong with the T&Cs, the issue is their process does not support the T&Cs, at no point do they detail what the full deposit amount is.....
