There were ads during the Christmas shortage last year. As I said, they will get loads in tomorrow, but in 2 weeks time they'll all be gone again. This will lead to a major shortage over Christmas.

It's usually a 12 to 16 week lead time on anything from China, (and remember the US is also having stock problems it's not just the UK they have to manufacture for) stock being made now is extremly unlikely to get into the stores now before Xmas. Floods of product don't happened, they never have for a Xmas hot toy and they never will. Why do people keep repeating this, if you think something being hyped look at the history of stores, places will take orders and fail to get them, or you''ll get a delivery date in february. If you want a Wii bit the bullet, and buy one now, the prices will only increase.

Advertising is also done in advance, they can't just phone up ITV and say show this tonight, they pay inadvance for a bundle of airtime and the sent the tapes, it's not out of the realms of possibility that the advertising was agreed in october.

    Japanese airlift in Wii crisis
A CRITICAL Christmas shortage of Nintendo Wii video game consoles may be eased by emergency flights from Japan, says Rob Saunders, the company's UK boss.
But as the system with the motion-sensing controller has become a must-have family gift this year, Saunders is cancelling TV advertising slots featuring celebrities, including former England footballer Ian Wright, in a bid to cool sales fever.
Games industry expert Stuart Disney said: 'This Christmas the company is facing a crisis in the UK and it risks disappointing a lot of people.'
Saunders said he was doing everything to get more supplies of Wiis. 'I am asking my bosses in Japan to fly in jumbo jets of consoles to solve the shortage,' he said.
A shortage of microchips made by IBM and ATI meant it was impossible for consoles to be made faster than the 1.8 million a month, said Saunders, but flying in supplies would cut the journey time by weeks.
