  • In general though, if there is anything wrong with an item, the retailer usually passes the buck to the manufacturer..eg: if you buy a hoover from a catologue & it develops a fault, they will just pass you onto Dyson or whoever.

You simply register the console with nintendo uK & if it develops a fault contact them.

At this time of year, if you simply want to return because it is a 'duplicate' gift, most stores will do this with a receipt to show it was bought from them as a sign of goodwill. Legally they don't have to though.

Edit: Lol, I'm a slow typist..or mycomputer is slow..one or the other. ;)

I didn't realise that. Very useful to know though so thanks. still seems a bit silly though - i mean, what if you are returning an item (any item) on behalf of a friend? i guess this is getting off topic though.
It's slightly relevant as this is a thread chasing Wii and many will be buying from Ebay so it's good to be aware of your rights when buying from private sellers. Of course you have normal rights under SOGA if you buy from an Ebay retailer.

  • >KatieKittyKat - Littlewoods... I ordered 23rd Nov and was given 7/12 as a delivery date. On the 6th & 7th I received a call from the call centre asking me if I had received my console. So I asked when was it dispatched. They couldn't answer that and couldn't tell when it would be. They did say something about them being available on the 5/12. An hour later on Friday, I was lucky enough to secure one on Amazon. So I cancelled my Littlewoods order and have email confirmation from them that I've cancelled it... I was a little peeved that I originally ordered it with Wii Play only to find they could send me basic console for £229.

Hope they sort it out for you.
