Wii Play just went out of stock at play.com
I'd have got one too if I hadn't spent ages faffing around trying to get that blasted useless discount code to work.
Note: I know it wasn't useless, but had I realised that it only applied to orders of £50 or more then I'd have just ordered the Wii Play at £34.99 and be done with it.0 -

Just got an email from HMV re. the order they took for Wii's recently - they don't think they will be able to deliver - luckily I already have one but it was naughty of them to take orders they couldn't fulfill!0

Dear hmv customer,
Here's an update on your order for a Nintendo Wii console.
As you are aware, the console is once again in extremely short supply this year, and Nintendo cannot keep up with the demand.
On 22nd November, we had a small amount of stock to sell today, as well as taking some orders to place into a waiting queue for about 30 minutes. The item only showed as in stock for a very short period of time, and then reverted to a 3 week estimate. Clear instructions were published on the site for all customers as follows:
'Desperate for a Wii this xmas?
Order your Wii from hmv.com, and we'll do our best to get your console to you in the run up to Christmas. Stock will be fulfilled on a first come first served basis, as and when we receive deliveries from Nintendo, but will be extremely limited, so order now to join the queue!
Whilst we have fulfilled a lot of the orders we took on that day, it has now become apparent that we are unlikely to be able to send a Wii to you before Christmas. We are really sorry to disappoint you, but we have done all we can to secure as much stock as possible from Nintendo and alternate supply sources.
We are happy to keep your order open for you, and will charge and send a Wii out to you as soon as we receive stock, but if you wish to cancel you may do so via your online account.
Please accept our sincere apologies for any disappointment caused.
Kind Regards,
Online Customer Service Team0 -

here is a tip for ebayer's out there specifically uk people.
type in Wii press enter
then under video games select Nintendo Wii
Now up the top under your typed word Wii, tick the box "search title and description" press enter
Now with the "search options" select the following
UK only (this is because of import charges etc and you ill know that the item is within the uk ...well it should be so also check where the seller is based and what the description states)
items within , if you are looking to save some cash on postage which is likely around 25£ to start with select the miles ... i did "50"
then select new items only
select items priced and on the box on the right input your max price you want , so for me it was 220 now this isn't the max buy it now price its the max price that bidd price can be
and i selected the time within 1 hour, then over to your right select sort by, and what i did was always select "ending sonest2 this gives you a better place to know whats going to end instead of trawling through tons of prices and giving you a panic attack.
also do not refresh the page of all the items as this doesnt work, the REAL time shows in the specified item itself
Also make sure you have cleared your internet cache (history files etc) as other wise your internet will slow down each page refresh)
make sure you are not uploading or downloading anything , this goes specifically to P2P etc suers, you need the speed so that when you are near the end of auction ie 1 min 20 secs, you can refresh the page with the ebay refresh tab, now when the item gets to 40 seconds input your first low amount and place the bid, then if that was successful, wait until 10 seconds (now this part is where the above kicks in with no downloads etc as you need the speed to have the bid confirm as quick as possible), place your highest bid you wish to go to and do it straight away and if its confirmed your chanced are you will bag the item as the other users will not have time to bid for it themselves due to the time period.
People these days even with broadband still seem to think bidding on something days before the auction ends, or even hours before it ends is a good idea its not...well not if you don't want any other bidder wanting it.
if you are at home during the auction time do the above, wait until the last moment and bid for it, if you bid for it to early it alerts other bidders and they start bidding, if you leave it alone the other bidders think they have a bargain etc , then at the last minute you do the exact above ie 2-3 bids within 40 seconds and you have nabbed it from under their noses.0
