I get it...when there is no work I furloughed myself. Currently furloughed for 3 wks continuously by employer, however if I'm required to work 1wk and furloughed for 2 wks - can I claim for 5wks? I'd rather work anyday....

You clearly don't "get it". Have you been furloughed continuously for those 5 weeks, no you haven't so therefore you can only claim for the first 3 weeks. if those 2 weeks at the end turn into 3 then you can put in a claim for those as well.

From his other thread, the OP mentions having an accountant, who should be able to make this clear and ensure the claims are in the rules.
    It is clear though,
1 week no work = unpaid
    2 weeks work = :)
3 weeks no work = furlough.  This can be extended for as long as there is no work and the scheme still exists
As soon as there is one day work, happy days, but no furlough
The furlough can be re-started but each 'stint' must be minimum 3 weeks up to as long as the scheme exists and no work.

Ok guys - I didn't realise that it has to be lots of 3 wks each time! I thought after the 1st 3wk qualifier, I could add to furlough 1/2/3 wks as required.

3 weeks is minimum you can carry on after 3 weeks but you can't do 3 weeks work for a week, claim for a week then work for a week etc

When initially furloughed my plc company put in writing to all employees they would be paying an additional top up to ensure we were paid at 100%. This lasted 1 month. The company then made all staff sign a document allowing them to make changes to our employment contract which in turn allows them to change how much we are paid or indeed allow them to lay us off for upto 4 weeks without pay. Shortly after this they pulled the offer to pay us at 100% and informed us only furlough 80% would be paid. Some employees have been unfurloughed but only a select few that seem to be the management choice. How is this fair or legal? Are they allowed to do this legally if they put in writing we were going to be paid at 100%? I have not had any time to request any payment holidays as I thought I was going to be paid and I feel your rug has been pulled from under my feet and I have been left in the lurch! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks J x
