Nope, they're just out because the sun is out. I'm not talking about the joggers or the people who do actually exercise btw.pjcox2005 said:
Maybe they work on the basis of needing exercise 3 or 4 times a week, have access to the weather forecast/windows and therefore schedule their outdoor exercise for when it’s dry which seems perfectly reasonable.Splatfoot said:What I found amazing is the amount of people who, when the sun's out really need their exercise, but when it rains, they remarkably don't need it then. Odd that. We go out daily, rain or shine, because we have dogs and it's so much quieter when it's raining.
I don’t get why anyone would complain about people exercising in dry weather particularly when it’s permitted under the guidance.0 -
Given that research is now suggesting that a good level of Vitamin D can positively impact on how severely coronavirus affects you, and sunlight is the best way of getting your levels up, who knows - we may soon all be told to get out and sit in the sun whenever the weathers good.Splatfoot said:

Also being out in the sun is good for your mental health. I really don't think we can begrudge people their one outing just because it isn't taken for purely cardiovascular purposes.p00hsticks said:

I find it slightly bizarre that people who under normal circumstances never bother to take any exercise at all, have suddenly developed a desire to rush out into the countryside and exercise frantically?!sharpe106 said:
Never seen so many dogs out and about when walking mine. Bet a lot of these dogs I see at moment have never been out for a walk before.Splatfoot said:What I found amazing is the amount of people who, when the sun's out really need their exercise, but when it rains, they remarkably don't need it then. Another interesting phenomenon is the number of people who prior to this pandemic barely knew where the oven was, have turned into Nigella Lawson and are baking furiously, buying up all the eggs and self raising flour they can lay their hands on.
A cunning plan, Baldrick? Whatever it was, it's got to be better than pretending to be mad; after all, who'd notice another mad person around here?.......Edmund Blackadder.0 -

Perhaps many used to exercise in gyms or classes. Or walked to work or the train station. If one leaves for work at 7am, the dog would normally be walked even earlier and few people would see this.
I am sure that there may also be some who are trying make the best of a bad situation and improve their physical and mental health by getting out for a walk. Personally, I live alone and the "good morning" and smile from a random stranger that I pass a few metres away is the only human contact that I get at the moment. It brightens my day so I make the effort, no matter what the weather.4
