Hi, I had the same problem when notifying my insurance when changing my plates, changes could be done online without an admin fee, but there was a charge if it was done over the phone.ljcash said:Hi
can anyone help at all . I transferred onto my car a private number plate yesterday and my insurance is due for renewal today . Did it all on dvla website all ok . When I went to put the cars new reg on comparison insurance sites to purchase insurance it doesn’t recognise the new number plate ! I rang dvla but they are closed due to corona . I don’t know what to do - can anyone advise please as my car now has no insurance !
i had to call as the new reg was not visible on the system, I was with Aviva they have a real time link to the DVLA records & changed my reg on my policy.
There was no charge as it wasn’t possible to be done online.0
