Car tax

Hi there, I am about to get a new car (First car) so does the car tax include emissions tax or is that different. Sorry if that sounds stupid to some of you but im new to all this. Thanks in advance!

Some surprisingly expensive tax groups on smaller engines also. £235 for a 1.4 Kalos. 169g
From what I remember there were quite a few small engined cars that had fairly high tax groups.

Not £30 for life, until the next budget.

At the end of the day £200 or difference is not a lot in motoring terms. A newer car may have less tax but
its likely to depreciate more than that potential saving.
