Hi there,
I am about to get a new car (First car) so does the car tax include emissions tax or is that different. Sorry if that sounds stupid to some of you but im new to all this.

Thanks in advance!

Your VED is calculated on emissions amongst other factors.

The "on the road" price of the car will include the first year's tax (which is emissions based), payable when it is registered. There is nothing more to pay VED wise in the first year. From the second year onwards it is the standard rate for the type of vehicle, with a £325 "extra" if the car had a list price of more than £40,000. (I wouldn't get a £40,000+ car as a first car tbh ;) )

For a used car the VED (tax) includes the emission element. How much you pay depends on the car and it's date of first registration. Check before you buy, as some aparently identical cars have hugely different VED rates because of when they were first registered or the engine fitted, some times only days apart. The years to watch are 2001 (Y reg) and 2017.

...and 2006, when the two highest bands were introduced.

Don't forget that if the OP wants to save money - they can buy a pre-1980 car - zero tax rated !

True, built before Jan 1st 1980, or registered before Jan 8th 1980 https://www.gov.uk/historic-vehicles/vehicles-exempt-from-vehicle-tax
There are a few zero rated vehicles from 2001 too. (upto 100g/km) Depends on the engine, but some are surprisingly large e.g. 110 ps qashqai, 140ps insignia- explains why The Government got rid of band a :)

or similarly - a pre 1 April 2017 low emission vehicle (up to 120g/km) - still rated at just £30 pa....... for life ?
eg) Suzuki Swifts / Balenos etc
