Pay Balance or Lose Deposit Jet2

Hi,

We are due to pay our remaining balance tomorrow for a holiday booked with Jet2 mid July. We are due to travel to the canary islands however I know this is highly unlikely and more so after reading the president of the islands has pretty much said that the islands won't be open for tourists outside of the islands, only locals and possibly spain, until winter.

If we cancel now, we lose the deposit, however if we were to pay the full balance and we are not able to travel due to Jet2 cancelling the flight, would be entitled to a full cash refund? I don't want an alternative if this is twice the price next year with them.

Any advice would be much appreciated?

You cancel , you lose part or all of your deposit as per their terms and conditions.

You pay the balance and protect the whole amount .

Theres a long running jet2 thread with all the information

That's our only concern as to whether they have to offer a full cash refund or whether they could offer an alternative which might mean potentially costing us more next year? If its a full refund then its something we will consider. Thanks

The full amount if it's cancelled by them .

Holidays are likely to be much more expensive next year regardless

Sorry, another question. The deposit was paid on a card that has since been cancelled and account closed. Would Jet2 try to refund to this account?

    Yes,as they won't know it's closed.
