Apple MacBooks Deisgn Fault in butterfly keyboard. Anyone had a refund/s.75 success?

Options
Hi all
We have a number of Apple products.  My eldest Macbook Pro is the 2018 15 model.  Cost over £2,000  This is one of the models Apple has identified as having the design flawed butterfly keyboard.  All new models of MacBook now have a new style keyboard with a scissor mechanism. Whilst Apple has a repair program for these keyboards that is only for 4 years from date of purchase.  My issues with his are:
1) these laptops are premium.  They are not normally replaced every four years so what happens after four years when the keyboard fails?
2) they are repairing for free but with the same style of keyboard.  So they are fixing a designed flawed keyboard with a design flawed keyboard. Like band aids over bulletholes.
I have asked Apple to confirm it they will
a) refund us for the laptop and they can have it back
b) replace the keyboard with a different type (do not think that is possible)
c) confirm they will support with free keyboard replacement for life of unit or
d) swap the laptop for a new one.
My question is has anyone else had these ongoing issues and if so did you get anywhere with a refund/replacement etc?
Thank you
C

Is this the keyboard where you need to take apart the device, remove the battery, and remove 100+ rivets to be able to get the keyboard out? ( I saw one of Louis Rossmann's YouTube videos about this ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KuVvb9DTaU )
