Curry's Ebay Store refund owed for 6 weeks now no response from anyone.

I purchased 2 Tv's for my children on the 20/03/20 to cope with the impending lockdown this was through the Currys pc World eBay site. There was a promotion offering 15% off the total. I entered the
promotional code and proceeded to pay but it wanted me to pay through PayPal
instead of my normal bank account so I logged into Paypal and paid but in the process this removed the 15% offer. I realised just after the payment had been processed and Immediately contacted Currys and eBay but they both wouldn’t accept responsibility for the transaction. Eventually Currys pc world advised I should
refuse the delivery and when the the tv’s are received back they will refund
me a total of £399.99. I did this and a week later they refunded me for 1 of the tv’s £199.99 and since then I have called team knowhow numerous times and have continously been cut off after being on hold for over 45 minutes each time, I have sent over 20 emails to Curry's, ebay, team knowhow and have messaged them on their twitter page, I have raised cases with ebay, PayPal and Resolver but they have not responded other than an automated email saying they would respond within 6 days. It has been around 6 weeks now and I am still owed £200. I am exhausted and really don't know what else I can do to get this back. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • I feel that the same is happening to me. Bought a Dyson v10 off the eBay store, arrived a few days later to find that it was completely dead. Messaged them through eBay and they organised a return with DPD which collected the next day and I have confirmed delivered to their warehouse on the 16th May 2020. Since then they have told me that it'll be processed within 5 working days however may take slightly longer due to Coronavirus and an influx of returns. A week passed, still no refund. Messaged again which they replied with to wait another week and if still not processed, then get back in touch and they will investigate further. Another week has now passed. I messaged them yesterday and no response.

My trouble now is that I want to escalate through eBay, however, eBay's system is saying that I need to print out a return slip and put in the post (I did print this out and taped it onto the box), however as they organised the return shipping, eBay's system hasn't confirmed that I've shipped it. When trying to find a way to escalate, I keep coming back to the same page stating I've got until the 15th June to ship it back. I've tried to contact eBay, however, their page currently states "This contact method is temporarily unavailable". Absolutely ridiculous. I have no product, Curry's has my money. If it wasn't a well-known store, people would say it was a fraudulent scam.

The only route I can see would be to go down the route of the small claims court, which if my situation isn't resolved soon, I'll have to consider too.
  • It is totally disgusting that they can get away with this. I will never buy from curry's pc World again after my experience. I eventually got my money back but it took 8 weeks of constantly hounding ebay, PayPal, curry's pc World and team knowhow on Twitter. Eventually PayPal sorted it out and got curry's pc World to refund me but it was totally frustrating as everytime someone would come back to me on twitter they would ask for information only for them to then go quiet and I would have to chase the next day and they would then ask for the same information again and again. Don't give up though because I feel it started to feel like it was going to be resolved once I started complaining on twitter because a lot more people see that. I complained to Martin Lewis and Lewis beer on itv, their managing director and CEO but never got any response. If you paid by PayPal then I would advise complaining on the @AskPayPal twitter page and maybe raise a case on PayPal but if you do this you cannot raise another case on ebay and they can take upto 2 weeks to comeback. But you can have an open direct message chat which although they may not come back to you next day the conversation will stay open. I hope this helps and you are able to resolve this soon.
  • Many thanks for the advice AngryBadger79. Thought I'd try the Curry's phone number first. Through the eBay business details, the phone just rings and rings then hangs up. So went to Curry's complaints and after a few minutes got through to someone. They then asked which department to which I stated my circumstances including it was through the eBay store. After waiting 30 mins, I then got through to a Janine, who was extremely nice and was very willing to help, however after going through all the details possible, and not able to find my order apparently, when I mentioned the complaints process, she hung up on me. AFTER BEING ON THE PHONE FOR 2 HOURS 32MINS and 14SECS.

It appears that there's an online chat with eBay available now, so I am trying that.
  • And another quick update, much more positive this time!
After chatting with eBay through their online chat, had a slight problem getting the person to see the DPD tracking, however, we sorted that relatively quickly, and they've opened, closed the case in my favour, and I've already got a refund!

Completely disgusted with Currys as well as their currys_clearance store. Family and friends have had issues with Currys previously, however after seeing an MSE topic about the currys_clearance eBay store, thought it might be better. Turns out the seller themselves is still a scammer, however luckily this time the eBay money back guarantee has worked fantastically!
  • Was reading this forum and I actually thought someone had copied and pasted my messages to Curry's pc world via eBay nearly the same except I've been trying to return a JVC TV since last  Oct only had it 3 weeks and screen got a right thick black line down screen,Been back and forth between Curry's and myself even went to local store and they went no better gave me different phone number turns out it was for  the use off Curry's staff only .all I ever get back from them is phone Team know how or as I like to say Team click on a weblink  , Finally given up  a few years since I would have sat there all day with them but  am unable to at this moment, due to developing a brain disorder after losing my daughter due to stress really but they Curry's know all this ,and I think that's the worrieng thing i them knowing  and still fobing me off ,
