Picked up this Brother mono laser a few weeks ago after my inkjet died:

I don't print very often and never do photos so it suits my needs perfectly. Some of the cheaper models are USB only and don't have a wifi/ethernet connection. That's not a problem if you only print from one computer but makes it harder to share the printer across your home network.0 -

You can share the printer on the computer its connected to so others can print to that, you can connect the printer to a NAS drive that has a USB port and built-in print server software and print to that, you can set up a Raspberry Pi as a printer server with some software called Cups and print to that...Scanning tends to be an issue though with these arrangements, but bog standard printing is easy to accomplish.0

Actually, I found the installation software which came with the Brother laser to be terrible so I ditched it and just used the Windows drivers - and it worked perfectly.0 -
I can answer both of your questions. First of all, laser printers are cheaper. Inkjet printers are more clear and bright , but since you are talking about a black and white printer, of course it is a laser printer. Secondly, I can advise you a store where high-quality and inexpensive printers. I also bought there and am very happy, I have it for two years and it works perfectly . Here is this store mrdepot.ca. I hope I helped you!
