If it's CP Plus you can probably stop worrying right now.
You just need to follow the advice in the 'Newbies' thread. You might need to read it a couple of times to get your head round how this scam works and what you need to do to defend yourself.
The regulars here will help you but do expect you to at least read the Newbies thread so that you have a basic understanding of what is going on.
But please stop worrying - that is what they want so that you give them money when you don't have to.

https://www.equalityhumanrights.com/en/equality-act/protected-characteristicsNine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and in some cases, cancellation.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the enacted
Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Charge is now £140, devastated.
Why?! Thank the lord you DIDN'T pay this scam! You dodged a bullet.
All you needed to do was read any CP Plus thread (all the same...very easy to beat) and send the forum's template appeal, albeit late. CP Plus are easy to beat and they can't hold you liable in law as registered keeper, as long as you DON'T tick 'driver' on the appeal page...obviously.
Read the NEWBIES thread before posting, please. That's why it's pinned at the top of the forum.

Why the devastation? This is very small beer, and that extra £40 is likely to be their undoing. You can always threaten them with a counter claim for disability discrimination. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Can somebody please help me.I have received a letter today from dcbl acting on behalf of CP Plus for a parking ticket issued over a year ago for parking in a retail park.I telephoned them and was told that CP plus would have sent me 2 letters. I said that I didn't receive them and was told to take it up with Royal Mail.I then spoke to Debt Recovery Plus who said that they had nothing on their system.I went back to dcbl and was told that I had no choice but to pay £170.Has anybody else come across this?0
