If your statutory notice period of 1 week takes you over the two year mark then you can still bring a claim, apart form gross misconduct.Alter_ego said:
An unfair dismissal claim is pointless under 2 yrs unless a protected characteristic involved.Masomnia said:I'd bring an unfair dismissal claim in your situation, I'm assuming they didn't consult with you re redundancy etc?
Also, there are lots of other reasons why the two year rule is disapplied, its not just where protected characteristics are involved.

Masomnia,
My weeks notice ends 2 days short of the 2 years employment, can you expand on why the 2 year rule can be disapplied please0 -
If your week's notice would have ended 2 days after the 2 yr employment period then you would have been deemed to have worked there more than 2 yrsIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
