Redundancy whilst on Furlough

Hi,
My employer is making me redundant I am currently on furlough and I feel that they have done this now because I will be 2 days short of being employed with them 2 years, the only reason that I can see for them doing this now is to avoid paying me any redundancy which would have been minimal and having to give me a months notice,
I know employment law states 2 years employment and its a long shot but I was wondering if there is anything I could possibly do

When will you have been employed for 2 years, and when did they give you notice?

I will have been employed for 2 years on the 8th of May
I live on a chalet park and all the mail goes to the site office they received and signed for the letter on the 29th of April telling me that I would be made redundant on the 6th of May0 -
Ooh it's really tight. It may be worth a cheeky claim, it's 2 weeks wages - most companies wont bother fighting something that small1

Thanks Comms69
You wouldn't think a company would sink as low during this pandemic to make someone redundant whilst being furloughed just to save themselves a months notice and a couple of weeks wages, they also told me my weeks notice will be paid at the furlough rate, I am sure that this is not correct0 -
You are lucky they furloughed you. They could just have dismissed you at the time the chalet park was obliged to close. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Many thanks for your comments, unfortunately I do not work for the chalet park its were I live as its residential,
The company I work for is still trading they have just made 4 of us who have been there under 2 years redundant0 -
I'd bring an unfair dismissal claim in your situation, I'm assuming they didn't consult with you re redundancy etc?“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse1

I can sympathise with you - my employer has done the same thing to me. Although my employment with them was only for 6 months.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.671
