After not being to get through to British Gas to advise of mams death I wrote to them with the death cert (just a copy) .
I've recieved a reply saying they are not monitoring or responding to letters at the moment as they are prioritising vulnerable customers, which I appreciate (pleased I didn't send the original certificate...)
It is regarding her boiler, which is paid for the year, do you know if we need to put this insurance into our name and if so the best way to do it, or do we claim a refund for months not used, and if so how we do that?
Many thanks
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

British Gas have a bereavement team, have you tried contacting them?

I had to write on the documents I was told to post that neither myself or my brother have British gas accounts, as I think they were going to transfer the money to one of our gas accounts, which would have been easy but we don't.
I just hope when they do get round to sorting it, it's back dated to date of death, or if anything does happen they don't say we aren't covered as it's still in her name.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0
