There was a thread that most victims used regarding this sc@m site and ukcps demands

Use search words like Piccadilly etc to find other examples

Come back if you get a court claim , there cannot be a CCJ without a successful court claim

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully, when life gets back to normal, it will become impossible for those scammers who are left to continue their vile trade, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Redx told you when you posted on someone else's thread in January that there would be no quick resolution. It's a game of poker, insofar as who decides to throw their hand in first. Hang on to yours!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Here is the UKCPS group thread for you to read and learn from, and you can send pm's to others in the same boat if it helps your peace of mind:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6071461/ukcps-no-stopping-parking-charge/p1

You should all be reporting that scam site to the local MP and to the DVLA for the lack of signage/entrapment.

Update - Any replies/ advice welcome. I received a second letter from Debt Recovery Plus on 12/6/20, again requesting £160.                                        I’ve since wrote to my local MP explaining all regarding my visit to Gateway Piccadilly. I included lots of comments regarding poor signage, entrapment area, DVLA parting with my details, etc. etc.   I requested for my MP to take this issue up with both the landowner and the MP of that constituency.                           This is what I received back..... Further to the concerns raised about the parking charge you received, here is a copy email received from the British Parking Association, MP then goes on to say, if I want to contact the IPC re this, he can follow it up on my behalf.                                           This is the email MP received from BPA:-                                UKCPS Ltd. are corporate members of the BPA but they do not subscribe to our AOS. Subsequently they are not bound by our C of P for the management of parking on private land. In order for our private parking operator to request the details of the RK of a vehicle from the DVLA, they must be a member of an ATA that are recognised by the DVLA. There are currently two ATA’s in relation to parking on private land- the BPA and the IPC. Each ATA has its own code of practice. UKCPS are members of the IPC, who operate their own code, compliance audits and appeals. They also manage complaints about their own members. To ensure (my name) concerns are addressed, we would recommend contacting the IPC. Kind regards,                 Compliance Inv. Officer- BPA

You need to continue on the group thread please.  We have no time to handle single threads about the same old stuff.  Wish we did, but we don't.

UKCPS Ltd. are corporate members of the BPA but they do not subscribe to our AOS.
You already knew that though - our NEWBIES thread specifically tells everyone that in post #1 (the FAQS section).   This is basic stuff.

Is your MP stupid?  Why the heck would they write to the BPA about a firm that's in the IPC?

Ask your MP to please send the same letter they sent to the BPA, to the IPC, because they clearly have a draft letter that went to the wrong Trade Body and you writing to the IPC will be ignored.

Please post any updates only on the group thread.

Your thread here is ONLY for use if you get a court claim.  That's the only stage an individual needs help on their own thread about this scam no-stopping zone.

Ok, thanks very much for that. I will get back in touch with the MP and ask that they do that

Hi all, my MP finally got round to writing to the IPC - they replied to him stating 1) the road has prominent signs at the entrance 2) I was stationary/ in the area for 7 minutes. Then quoted Parking Eye v Beavis  and VCS v Ward ?? My MP has advised me to contact Debt Recovery to resolve the matter as interest/penalties can stack up if not paid and even possible court action!
Obviously I will still go with the advice from this forum. Just wondered if I should say anything more to my MP?     Many thanks to anyone wishing to give their thoughts
