Can someone hack into smart tv to get access to internet.

I dont know what you are getting on about but I've solved the issue.  all i want to know now is how to change the device name so i can recognise it as it used to have one.

Perhaps DoaM has tried googling How to change the name of an unknown device on an unknown phone ! you aren't helping anyone help you , perhaps that is what he is "getting on about"

It always amazes me (although I should know by now) how posters come here looking for help but then get aggressive/dismissive when someone asks them a pertinent question in order to be able to help them!

Device name is usually changed on the device itself, although sometimes you can add a 'comment' on the other device (for example your router or your wireless controller).

It may be possible, could you post the model number?

Have a look in the Setup menu then select Network Settings.  You may be able to change the name there.

Surprises me too.  I'm in two minds sometimes as to whether to just post "Okay, I've fixed it." and see what happens.

For saying i've actually added the make/model of the device i actually can't understand why you are commenting when you haven't before on this threat, it is totally unnecessary. 

You still haven't said what the phone is , I don't care but someone may wish to help from here in on, attitude rhymes with lattitude, I won't give you any of the latter.

what about the phone, i sometimes use 5 different brand/operating system it's showing like that on all of them, its the hifi i need to change.  People asked what the brand/model is I've already given it.
