My guarantee is about to run out but they are only taking local orders

An independent computer shop repaired my laptop 6 months ago but it has faults. Because of covid their shop is closed and they are only doing call outs for locals for now (I'm not local).
My guarantee will run out in a few days, I've emailed them about it, but not heard back as yet. If I don't hear back and the guarantee runs out, what are my rights in this situation?
(Time isn't a problem for me, I'm happy to wait till they're able to look at it, as long as I don't have to pay for it.)
Thanks for any advice.

Have you written to them outlining your problems so that you have a record of issues that developed within the warranty time frame? If so - I don’t see there being any issue that they’ll resolve it once they’ve begun accepting returns whenever things open up a bit more. They may only be doing local repairs at the moment / but they should acknowledge your concerns and outline what they’ll do once they have an opportunity to do so.

Thanks, I've just added that. They didn't email back when I've tried before but I suppose that helps as proof that at least I tried. They were fine when I dealt with them in shop.

As long as you have proof in writing that you've sent a communication to the right place within the time of your warranty - if at a later date they decide to be funny about it - there's always the option of a small claims action through the courts if it ever came to that - but I'm sure it'll all sort itself out, as you say time's not an issue, you just want it done under warranty conditions. Did your message outline all of the problems? Or was it just a 'Please get in touch with me' email?

No, it had the important details I think. Thanks again.
