eamon said:My thoughts won't help the OP. I think the future tyre charge possibly relates to many new cars not having a spare wheel. So the OP is driving the car and a tyre gets trashed, calls out RAC and they supply & fit new tyre.
Basically, the OP's gambling on a ~60% chance of the RAC paying for a trashed tyre.
Then start arguing with them about the £85 "arrangement fee", and try not to loose your keys.
Knock that silliness off, and £135 is very reasonable for national recovery/at home/onward travel breakdown cover with the big boys. I'd pay that.0 -
Once you have cancelled with RAC and their comedy pricing, consider signing up for a Nationwide Flexplus account that costs £13/month and includes full EU breakdown cover (as well as mobile phone and travel insurance), and if you have a joint account you're both covered."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0

I pay for my RAC using Tesco vouchers and make sure they never, ever get my bank or credit card details; even if it means overpaying a bit in Tesco vouchers. The worry of them taking money and the likely hassle getting it back just isn't worth it.
