Those numbers don't seem to make sense if you paid them 2 x £175.88 and 1 x £291.94 then your balance after deducting the first bill for around £175 would be much higher than £311... ?You might want to use the 'view my balance history' option to see exactly what has gone in and out of your account?What does your account page say the next DD will be?0

Actual figures:
Paid £175.88 in March and £175.88 in April
Charged £246,09 for 6 weeks' electricity usage - balance £105.67
Notified of increase of monthly charge to £291.94 - asked online for this to be reduced to £180 until 3 readings have taken place
Paid £291.94 monthly charge in May (request had been ignored).
Charged £86.03 for 4 weeks usage - balance £311.58

What does your account page say the next DD will be?... and have you tried just changing it online?0

It's summertime and the DD is only just covering the actual cost. At this time of year I would be expecting to build up a good credit .
You must be a high user - whats' your anticipated annual consumption and wats your heating ?

Charged £86.03 for 4 weeks usage - balance £311.58They get historical property meter readings after about 45 days on supply and make recommendations to increase monthly payments based on that, does not appear to take into account credit balance on accountsCustomer is free to reply to automatic email and state what level monthly payment should be and/or set own monthly payment within online console which you appear to have done.Can ask for credit refunds at any time, With Octopus Energy it is not compulsory to pay more during summer months to cover higher winter usage, some find it useful to pay more during summer months and have excess credit for winter months others like me prefer to pay month in advance roughly what I use and make one off additional payments to cover any higher winter usage.0
