Vanquis 1 year fixed rate bond rate?

I opened a 1 yr fixed with them as well. I couldn't access my account online. Called last week Monday, was on hold for over 1 hr, no answer, wrote an email to customer service asking them to contact me, no reply. We're 1 week further now , tried to call, nobody picks up. As I hadn't deposited anything yet I have decided to cut my losses and not save with them. I don't trust a bank you can't contact.0

Sounds like it's not just me then! I had savings in YBS due to mature and when Aldermore dropped their rate just before I could move them, went for a Vanquis fixed rate bond.
I got the authentication code in the post but cannot see where ro put it and no info on the site. I typed in the url in the letter www.vanquissavings.co.uk/_ which is how it looks to me but no box appeared to put the code in.
I tried logging in without it but of course it wouldn't recognise my User ID. Now I just feel stuck.
When you ring it says to email, when you email it says to ring. I held on for 40 minutes, my whole lunch break, but cant afford to do that every day. The email auto-reply says they hope to reply within 5 days but based on what I have read on 2 posts on here I am not hopeful.
As I couldn't get I just moved my money into my current account so it was more flexible to move on. I transferred £20 as a test to my account but of course I can#t tell if it has gone in or not. It's SO frustrating.
I understand they have few staff in at the moment, but make it clearer what to do with your code and we won't bother you!
Did anyone actually manage to submit their authentication code please? Before i give up and move my savings elsewhere. Thanks very much

I can't seem to authenticate either, although it does give me a box. Presumably you are supposed to enter the 9 figure 'application number' they sent out by Email?
It just says the number/password don't match or something similar.
I've not had any replies to my Email enquiry asking for help on this sent on the 29th April, so 5 working days to reply is today. I have only got 2 more days to deposit at the original rate!0 -
I also opened a 1year fixed rate bond with Vanquis and deposited £1000 to check it had gone to the right place , but now cannot log onto my account . I’ve also phoned and emailed with no luck - I even got hung up on after waiting ages on the phone .
I won’t be depositing any more funds with them and will close the account as soon as I can get hold of someone as I can’t access my account online .0 -
Update to my previous post
I just got through to someone from Vanquis bank after holding on the phone for an hour.
Got my account accessibility sorted, but I’m still not sure I’ll put any more money in the account. Might close it if I can.0 -
No problems at all in opening the account. Deposited money at the outset. Letters arrived all together around 10 days later. Though part of delay was down to Royal Mail not processing mail very promptly. Access online was seamless.
Recently added a second account. Still awaiting confirmation letters. Attractiveness of 1 year rate probably resulted in a lot of applications. Understandable if service therefore wasn't normal. Where is it these days? Queued the other day for 35 minutes just to get into Tesco's.

After opening an account it asks you to wait of a message confirming authentication of your nominated account. Presumably that means you can't pay money in until you receive another message?
How long does this take?0 -
I've also had problems-lack of acknowledgements, confusing emails, no reply to email query, unclear procedures, can't get through on phone, impossible to log in with p.w. set just the day before and user i.d. given by them etc etc- I could go on. I was worried as Vanquis' communication was so poor and I could not find out if my transferred funds were in my account.Reading reviews in which people reported being unable to access/find their money was the final straw. Then mysteriously saw a refund from Vanquis in my bank account! What a relief. Needless to say, I have now invested the funds elsewhere. I will not be trying Vanquis again- I am very cautious and like to know exactly what is going on and where my money is.I know things may move more slowly in this current situation, but other banks I deal with haven't been like this. Vanquis obviously has serious staff and tech problems.

21 5star reviews in the past 3 hours. I'd trust a company far more if it had more of a mixture of a good and bad.
Totally agree. Since you wrote that there's a lot more 5 star reviews been left and all within the last few days/week. I can only assume that the dozens of people who have managed to easily get through / found Customer Services easy to contact have another phone number to me!
Another 30 mins on hold last week and gave up.
Obviously there's a lot more serious issues than this with the current situation in the world.
It's hard to have any confidence in a bank that I can't contact. 2 hours on the phone and 10 days with still no reply to my email made my decision very easy to go elsewhere.0
