Disconnected a month early

Options
Hi Talktalk asked me to give them 30 days notice to cancel my account which would give me ample time to find another provider. However they actually disconnected me 27 days earlier than they should have. They have admitted this was their mistake but nobody will do anything about it. I’m caring for my elderly mother and I have now been without broadband or a phone line for seven days. I can’t do banking, pay bills, shop or sort out her medication. Worse than all of that having lost my job I can’t start a claim online for any kind of benefit. I’m putting my mother at risk by having to go out So often. does anyone have any suggestions. Please bear with me as I have never posted anything online before and will have to find my way around this

Are you registered with TT as vunerable ??.
Suggest a mobile dongle/ use phone network until sorted .

The normal method of moving ISP is first to sign up with new provider they do all the cancelling etc .
At present telecoms are on lockdown and skeleton staff .
  • Thank you for your reply but the point is I could’ve stayed connected and renewed my contract now I can’t even go to another provider. Yes I am registered as vulnerable.

Then inform TT that you are registered with them as vulnerable see if they are able to do anything .

    Do you have smart phone?

  • There is nothing stopping you ordering from another provider if TalkTalk have disconnected your service.

However, as @JJ_Egan has said, all providers are operating with much reduced staff and that could delay their ability to get you connected.
