DWP payment abbreviations

Can anyone tell me what payment this would refer to please
DWP dp UC mid
We've applied for esa and pip, had no correspondence through yet but this payment into bank account, the only abbreviation for mid I can see is mortgage interest direct but mortgage isn't applicable in our situation.

UC is Universal Credit, are you sure it was ESA you applied for? If you applied for UC then you will have a journal that you can check your statement on.

Sooo, I've been hunting round the internet since midnight last night for info on this.
I'm on ESA in the support group. Have been for over 10years. I was due a payment today, it normally goes in around 12.30pm on the day it's due. I checked and it always says DWP EESA on the payments. Never any deviation from that.

Gone to check last night, and I had a payment (for more than normal) and it is the same as you've said
    DWP DP UC MID.
Looking at the abbreviation list it's as follows- department for work and pensions, disability premium, universal credit, mortgage interest payment.
As I am not on UC, and I certainly do not have mortgage repayments at all.

I'm drawing a complete blank. If I had a zillion hours to be waiting on the phone I would, but as I am recovering from sepsis caused by pneumonia I'm exhausted and don't need that grief!
Hopefully someone can figure this out xxx

That's exactly what I came up with too🤔 we definitely applied for esa, did it all over the phone. I came up with dp-direct payment or disability premium. But am stumped until we get paperwork through I guess, look after yourself, sounds like you've had a tough time. Hope you are well on the road to recovery now x

Sounds like, for some reason, some payments have been processed through a different bit of the system.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
  • Possibly for some reason a manual adjustment/payment done by someone who (lets be kind) is new to the system?

I thought it might have been something like that, maybe the office dealing with some payments are struggling with staffing so other departments are dealing with payments?
I don't know lol. Never mind, sure we will be made aware if anything is wrong!

swmumx3 thank you lovely. I'm starting to recover but it's a slow process! In a fashion, luckily they have allowed me come home on insanely strong antibiotics as my hubby is a nurse and can keep an eye out for downhill problems. I'm just exhausted. I just tried my dinner and I was so knackered I couldn't even chew my food 😭
But, I am home. With my kids, hubby and cats and my Covid-19 test came back negative thank god. We said at the begining hopefully it's only sepsis and pneumonia....never thought we'd ever say that!

Best place to be, home with your family. Look after yourself, take care and no doubt random abbreviation payment will become clear soon😁
  • I'm another data point to add to the mystery, found this post as the sole Google result for "dc uc mid'. I've been on ESA unbroken for years, recently applied for and was denied PIP (happened last time too, blatant lying as is the routine) but haven't applied for/haven't had any notice regarding Universal Credit.
