I've just read my post from when i finally told my parents what i'd been up to. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=200472
it says somewher ein there it will take me 4 years to pay off my debt.
It's made me sad that i felt such desperation and i can clearly remember the thoughts going through my mind the night before i posted that.
But 18 months on my debt is all but gone, (thanks to moving back home) i havent gambled, and i am happy that in a few months i can move out again and be debt free.

I only started on here in August but I even mentioned feeling suicidal in my first post which was true. Although I have only paid a relatively small amount off my debt.. at least it is going down and not being added to! I have just had £61 paid into my account from Topscashback and Quidco and had never heard of cashback sites until joining this board. My Christmas pressies are all bought and paid for. I am getting really APR savvy. I probably would have just added my debt to my mortgage (for the third time!!) and carried on spending until the point of bankruptcy. Now, by the time my mortgage needs renewing in three years I will be almost, if not already debt free!
I just feel so much more positive. One unfortunate thing though, I have sussed out how my real friends are.. those that are quite happy with coming around here for a cuppa or a just a walk in the park. The ones that only wanted to spend a bomb going to the bars have dropped by the wayside, I realised I was used so that they had someone to go out with but not wanted to spend time with me as a person.
Thanks for all the advice and support and long may it continue!:TSecond and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0 -
I can't find my first post, but i'm glad i declared my totals in my signature. It annoys me that i feel i wasted last year, though it went down overall i also managed to increase other debt, but at least i can always see a result for the hardship i'm making myself go through.0
