How much UC you're entitled to will depend on your circumstances. If you don't have a work allowance then earnings received during your assessment period will reduce your UC by 63% for everyone pound you earn.

One reason is that union membership is low in the private sector.  Are you in a union?  They hold employers to account, lobby for worker's rights and offer legal and other support if you have a dispute or grievance.
