Driving schools

Wrong how? Coppers arent socially distancing. Neither are delivery drivers, bus drivers and a whole host of others. What's yer point? And what's a DA?452 said:
You were wrong. I appreciate the lockdown may be difficult for you not being able to pick a fight in your regular choice of drinking establishment but don't turn to DA.Scrapit said:
So?452 said:
I can tell it's very different to the guidelines the police have, there's more single crewing and if double crewed the advice is to keep that crewing for tour of duty. So it could be 4-7 days and not a new person in the car every hour.Scrapit said:
The government advice is work from home if you can. Driving instructors cannot. There will be a lack of social distancing but no different to a bin lorry, bus, taxi, police car, delivery lorry etc with more than 1 person in it. Personally I would pause any lessons just to be safe.50Twuncle said:Are driving schools supposed to be operating during the Covid 19 crisis ?Just noticed one picking up a "customer" down the road !0 -
I think the point was to get a totally unnecessary thread started so posters can argue discuss finer points?Scrapit said:

Can't speak for your others, but firemen are, as far as possible - a neighbour is one, and was telling me that they're now taking two vehicles where they would have taken one, so they can sit further apart inside the vehicle.Scrapit said:Wrong how? Delivery drivers round here are being very good at leaving the parcel somewhere and standing well back. No PoD sig required.0 -
Would have been surprised myself what with whats going on at present.
In the supermarket / chemist everyone is trying to keep at least 2 meters apart and look at you as if you have the plague should you get any nearer, so getting into a car with someone just a few feet apart ?
Funny how we jump from meters to feet still.0 -
My gas and electricity meters are quite small so I would be keeping more than two of them apart. Maybe 2 metres or 6ft 6ins in old money?

Delivery drivers delivering things like washing machines have no choice. Single vehicle but 2 people required for manual handling reasons. And bin men. You can get a fair few in those cabs.AdrianC said:

Are you always obtuse or is it just when hiding behind a keyboard?Scrapit said:

I'm surpised - I haven't seen any operating at all.
Ambulance crews clearly can't social distance in their ambulances but they do wear masks etc. Our binmen did actual go on strike over social distancing on the vehicles and some changes were made but I don't know what these were.0
